trailer hitch question? need some help

I ordered the Curt hitch for my t4r the other day and was putting it on today and had a problem with it. If you are looking at the rear of the vehicle, I could not get the back right bolt into the pre drilled hole in the frame. Its the bolt in the back over the exhaust. Well when i finally did get it half way in, i realized it was stripped out and won't let the bolt go in anymore.

My questions is it alright to leave that one out, there are a total of 7 out of 8 on there right now. The main reason i installed it was to put a hitch bike rack on the back. At the absolute most, i will tow a 3 seater jet ski about 15 miles to the lake. Since i am not really towing over 1000 pounds, does it seem like it would be okay to keep that one out.

Also wanted to ask about remounting the bracket. I will take pictures tomorrow but it seems like the bracket can mount in some other holes that are on the left side of the under carriage. They are both 9cm apart. Anyone else have any pictures of them remounting it besides the hidden hitch that comes with the bracket. Other than that, please post some pictures if you have them

As far as the stripped bolt is concerned... With the low weights you're going to tow it's probably ok. I'd keep it on my list though. When the weather warms I would tackle it and make it right. I would be uncomfortable trading or selling the vehicle without it being right...

After the first or second tow re-snug all of the bolts.

I know what bolt you are referring to because I just installed a Curt on my 2008 SR5 a month ago. That bolt is a real bear to access and I had to use open end wrench due to lack of clearance for a socket. I agree that you should be OK short term, and next shop visit have them rethread that welded nut. You should be good to go. I still have not moved the electric outlet yet, but will rig something in Spring when I need to tow a boat.

I was looking at some possible places that it can go. I will take a picture of where i am thinking. The place has the same width of holes as the bracket which is 9cm apart.

Rather than re-mount the bracket, I bought a jumper wire set with connectors on each end for a few bucks.

do you know what brand or any of the part numbers on that. The problem i am also running into is the door wont even open on the connector because it hits the hitch.
