Trailer light accessory plug from dealer?

I was just wondering how many people that got the towing package were given the trailer light accessory plug to go from the hitch to the trailer connector? I did find the braker controller adapter in the glove box, but that is all.

If it isn't common to get it included from the dealer is there a place to get one cheap after market? I have a 2005 Limited V8. Thanks.

Are you talking about the 7 pin to either 6 or 4 adapter?? Those can be purchased at any walmart, kmart, autostore, etc ... for about $10. I for one that does the 7-pin to both 4 and 6 for only $14.99 at walmart.

I think so. The plug on the hitch is on the left side and has a flip cap on it. It is circular and I think it has 6 "pins" in a hexagonal arrangement with one in the middle. So I need something to plug into that to plug into the 4 or 6 pin trailer connector. Is that what you are talking about? I guess I was assuming the connection on the 4Runner end was not standard, but maybe it is. If it is, great!
 
I think it is actually 7 pin on the 4 runner (6 around and one in the middle....). You can easily find a conversion plug just about anywhere.

I paid $8.49 from the dealer for the 7 pin to 4 pin converter the day after I bought my 4Runner.

It sounds like no one got them free from the dealer. Now I know what to look for and the best part is, it's cheap! :D

If that is a question, it just depends on what kind of plug is on your boat trailer.
 
Actually I rewired our trailer to the 7 way plug. It was very nice! I like it better, plus its all wired, so you don't need an adapter when you tow it. You just cut off the current one, buy a tip from wal-mart, and wire it in.
 
My boat trailer has a flat 4-pole connector. I'll keep that on since I need the flexibility of using more than one vehicle to tow with.

As for the 7 pole to 4 pole, I may consider a coiled version that has a 3' cord. Looks like a nice option. It's a few more bucks than the plain plug but my existing trailer wire is not that long.

Got mine free from the dealer... It was in my glovebox wrapped in plastic.

Are you sure that wasn't the harness for the trailer brakes? That came wrapped in plastic in my glovebox.

Im sure its the 7 to 4 pin converter because Ive used it several times towing a trailer. ;):
