Hi all,
Hoping someone can tell me where to connect trailor wiring harness. I have a 98 4Runner Limited with I believe to have a factory trailor hitch , but I can't seem to see where trailor wiring harness gets hooked up to.
Can someone help me with this? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What's a "trailor"?

The trailer harness should route up through the floor under the plastic cover at the back of the hatch. On my 99, it's on the left side (as you're standing at the hatch facing the interior). It runs to a black "converter" box, which I guess does something to the incoming signal. Mine was faulty, so I'm replacing it with the Hopkins aftermarket kit, which is a plug-n-play.

Rats. I'm missing the wiring as well...

When i got mine it had a hitch but no wiring harness. I looked everywhere in the rear and i finally found it, it was tucked in the panel on the left in the cargo area. i first unscrewed the piece of trim that goes across the back above the bumper then i just unsnapped that left panel and it was hiding in there, you should check there if you haven't already.
