Trails in Maine ?

:awais: I am going to be in Bethel Maine over the Memorial weekend and was wondering if anyone new of any legal trails in the area to go ? If anyone could give me some help on this it would be greatly appreciated !

Maine has thousands of miles of logging and wilderness access roads, you should have no trouble finding dirt. If there is no gate and no signs then it is legal for you to be there. Just drive around and do some exploring.

Grab the Delorme atlas. It will show your area well and lists most of the logging roads and trails.

Other than that you may try contacting an offroad store.

Ahh-yup....

Just got the Runner loaded and headed out for some camping and fishing at Grand Lake Stream. Lots of dirt roads and lakes so the Runner is going to get real dirty. I'm hoping for cloudy but prepared for rain.

Does anyone fear water ingestion! Cripes... I see a un-modified vehicle trying to swim across the pond and I can't help but to think that water is getting drawn up in cher!

Not just trying....This water was a piece of cake. Trust me, the 4Runner has many more inches of water clearance (even stock) than the piddly little puddle I drove through.

Open the hood and look at the air intake position...then find the vent. Pretty high up and shouldn't be a problem unless you start running up well over the bumper.

Somebody quoted 24-27 inches of water fording capability in the past. I can't quite remember what the exact was.

might still want to do the rear differential breather mod...it's simple, cheap, and can save lots of $$ in damage... while the air intake is high, the breather for the rear diff is down a lot lower... check the sticky on the offroad section (I think, if not there, search for it)
