Trails in Virginia?

Does anyone know of some off-roading trails in like a 30 mile radius from Roanoke Va? I know of Potts Mtn but I'm not sure I am ready to take on that difficult of a trail. I am looking for medium to easy trails, possibly even old logging roads. I just want to find some places where I can test the 4 wheel drive out once and awhile and get the old 4runner a little muddy.

I'm planning on exploring some old fire trails in the area. I was told recently that a few had just opened up and did some recon today with my brother. It's just off the parkway no too far from Big Island. Im planning on going this weekend if you want to tag along.

I will be in my 07 Sport V8 with the only mod being BFG KO2s.

I actually can't go this weekend but I appreciate the offer. I will have to do some exploring sometime this month as well.

Me and friend ran Shoecreek last year, nice beginner trail and some scenery but I heard they shut it down, not sure. It was a federal water shed I believe. Search Shoe Creek on here, I posted some pics.

Shoe Creek is no more. Cut in half by a locked gate. Dumbasses kept going off the trail and messing up the adjacent private land....the owners got pissed and had the Forest Service shut it down.

Gwnf

Unfortunately, aside from the random fire roads and/or private property, you are stuck with a 2 hour drive north to around Harrisonburg.

What a shame, how come people just can't find it in themselves to OBEY POSTED SIGNS!!

Sorry, I totally forgot about this thread. I appreciate all the reply's. That is a shame that some people just don't have any respect, and has to ruin it for the rest of us. But I am going to try to do some more exploring this summer with a few of my buddies. Maybe even try to go on one of the Toyota meets that pop up on this thread.

March/April may be the next offroad trip to flagpole or maybe big levels. Be on the look out for Central VA trails 4.0 . We have guys come 4 hours from the beach everytime to go wheelin in the woods. Hell we may touch into WV if we hit Flagpole
