Trails near Yellowstone / Montana??

I'm headed from Vancouver, BC to Yellowstone this summer, taking the I-90. Anyone have suggestions on some off-road / backroad trails that are worth checking out on the way there?

I have some leads on Gallatin Canyon and Cooke City, though more details on Gallatin Canyon area is definitely welcome.

When are you headed to Yellowstone? There are quite a few trails in the Gallatin valley area that range in difficulty from casual dirt road to moderately difficult trails. There are also quite a few local guys that get together almost once a week or so to do something. Let me know when you’re gonna be around and I’ll see if I can help coordinate something

Get off of I-90 (you don't have time to see much at 85mph) - drive the 2 lane highways and county gravel roads.

Hell Roaring Plateau - south of Red Lodge - climbs the west side of Rock Creek opposite Beartooth Highway switchbacks - 14 miles round trip from highway - very rough, rocky but easy 2wd

Expedition Overland did a video a few years ago entitled "It Barely Makes Sense" about a road that climbed up several thousand feet out of a valley east of Yellowstone, in Wyoming, with about 27 switchbacks. They had a tough time, largely because they were towing a trailer. Here's the Youtube link.

It's called the Morrison Road, and climbs north out of the Clark Fork of the Yellowstone River, southwest of Badger Basin, Wyoming. Here's the Google map.

Looked like a fun road, and pretty doable without a trailer.
