Tranny beginning to fail? Looking for input / advice

So I greased the crap out of the U-JOINTs, they were bone dry and most of the noise is gone. I driven it a few days and can still hear it once in awhile but it is really faint and not long periods like before, no other work done- weather did get a ton colder tho. I hope that helps in any way.

Just go grease your u joints anyway. It's part of keeping a vehicle alive.

I always thought a clunk shifting drive to reverse was a drive shaft issue? U-joints may not reveal wear unless a load is applied, like shifting D to R.
Can you place your phone under a U-joint-start video recording- then shift and create the clunk- review your video recording and look for movement in the U-joints.
