hey guys. im looking for a auto trans for my 2000 4x4. i heard that a 99-2000 is a direct fit. i also heard that a 96-98 will fit too, but it needs some kinda modification? dose anybody know if thats true or what the will work or what i have to do to make the older trans work? if the older one wont work does anybody have a trans for sale?? i found a wrecked 98 for $500. thanks guys!!

A340F is your tranny model. To be sure, check the sticker on the driver door jamb. At the lower right it should say "A340F".
Then check car-part.com for a transmission in your area. There are slight differences between years, but I think most of that was in the valve bodies (meaning the trans will physically bolt up, but the ECM and the valve body may not be on the same page). Best to get one from a 2000 if you can.
