Tranny plug for temp gauge sensor?

I was wondering if there is a side plug or extra plug hole in the tranny pan that I could put a manual temp gauge sensor in? Is it separate from what is used to drain the ATF? I also need to know if anyone knows the size of the hole and what side of the rig it's on. My temp sensor is 1/2", so I can always adapt it. Thanks to those that know what I'm talking about here.

I know I can just scan it also, but since I have the manual temp gauge, I'd like to connect it too and see what kind of temps it reads compared to the scanners temps.

They make some electronic sensors that replace the existing drain plug. Problem with these is that they read the temperature of the fluid in the pan only, and not the fluid coming out of the Torque converter which is the hottest.

Get the scangaugeII, that will read your Torque converter temps and use your other gauge for pan fluid temperature.
