Tranny whine

My new 2007 tr4 has a tranny whine that reminds me of a tractor/trailer deisel whine as he goes through the gears. Any of you have this whine whether loud or soft? Is this normal for Toyota 5 speed auto trannys?

I'm not sure what noise you're hearing, but the tranny definetly does not whine when during operation....

I'll have it checked out at the dealer . Alternator purhaps but sounds more like the trans.

Where are the grapes grown that are used for tranny Whine? :biggrin2: Just kidding. Any time I have heard a whine noise from a transmission is when it was low on fluid or had a bad torque converter/oil pump:

I'm starting to think it's not tranny whine but the viscous fan spinning as the engine gets hot. I could really here it loud when I got home and reved the engine with my door open. I was really surprised to see that on a Toyota vehicle. Thought they were obsolete since the late 70's.
