Hi,
Does anyone know where the trans temp probe is on the sealed 5-speed auto? There is an idiot light so I'm assuming there is a probe somewhere. And would it be possible to replace it with an aftermarket sensor to feed signal to an actual gauge.
Also, on another trans subject, if I replace the stock trans cooler with a larger one, is it possible to overcool the fluid in the winter when it's only 10-20 degrees outside. Does anyone know for sure whether the external stock cooler is plumbed before or after the radiator cooler.......if before, I'm assuming the radiator cooler would actually warm the fluid up if the external cooler cooled it too much.
Getting ready for the summer towing season, planning a trip to the Grand Canyon and then over to the California coast via I-40 through the Needles (HOT HOT HOT) area in late July and want to make sure I'm taking care of the trans.
