Are the transfer cases in the A750F (05-09) and A340F (03-04) on the v6 the same?

The TC is the same for all years, regardless of transmission. There's a slight variation depending on engine but the two TCs are virtually identical.

VF4BM = V8
VF4AM = V6

Been saving and researching for quite a while now, . Found an 06 tcase on classifieds with a shot rear housing for 200. May just take the extension housing off the 2wd tranny, and bolt up a tcase. I'll probably lose the option of a locking center diff; however, it'll be cheaper in the long run, and in theory, I can always run one later.

Sounds good. Be sure to post some updates with your progress, I'm hoping to do the same by winter/spring.

The V8 transfer cases lack a shift fork, syncronizer gear, and slightly different shift rod to eliminate 2WD, but otherwise they are identical from what I have found in TIS.
