Hello , I recently purchased a 93 4x4 v6 automatic trans. 4 runner (about 4 and a half months ago I took it for a transmission fluid flush the next day that I purchased it and about two months ago I was driving the 4 runner and stopped at a red light and when I hit the gas pedal the truck barely moved , I then shift the the gear to neutral and placed it back on drive and it took off perfectly and now during this month it has done it like three times (maybe once every week and 2 days) but like I mentioned the transmission changes the gears like it should ...the most recent was I stopped the car then I hit the gas pedal it did the same thing it moved very slowly without power and I noticed that the overdrive off light came on without me touching the button and it turned back off ... , I then did the same thing put the gear on neutral and on drive then it took off ...can someone please advise?....thanks for your time

It sounds like the trans is not shifting back down to 1st after you stop, so you are starting off in high gear. It is probably a shift solenoid problem.

Cisco492,
Did you figure out the problem for your truck? I am having a similar problem, the only way to get my truck to move was when I was at a very high RPM (not in the red area just yet but almost). Hopefully I didn't ruin my transmission, I towed a large tree that we cut last week and the truck made one clicking noise (sounded like a gear slipping) when backing up, but the it drove fine after that (for a few days), the problem started after I changed the oil.

Anyway, if anyone has a good idea on where / how to start to troubleshoot I would really appreciate it!

Carlos
