i have no idea when the fluids were changed in my 4runner as i am a fairly new owner. now that the weather is good and i can lay on my back in the driveway i'm wanting to hit a couple of maintenance things. my runner is a 5 speed and i'm wondering what fluid i need to change for the manual. also, what type of oil is suggested for the diffs? thanks.......

If I remember correctly I think I used vavoline 75w-90 synthetic in the front and rear diffs. The book calls for 80w-90 in the rear but I went with the 75.
And it's been a while but I think I put Redline MT-90 in the transmission and transfer case. Redline is a bit expensive and I would check on their website to see if the MT-90 also goes in the transfer case. I just can't remember off hand.

I recently changed my fluids using all redline products. Specifically, I used MT-90 in the tranny and the tcase. Using MT-90 in the tcase is fine, I confirmed it with their customer support services before doing so.

For a point of reference, (fellow MT owners) I spent about $120 shipped (i think) for all fluids (Tranny, F/R diffs, Tcase) from www.racerpartswholsesale.com

redline 75-90 in the rear and xfer couldint get the drain bolt of the front its mangled pretty bad now and reline mt 90 for the tranny
