I have a 1997 with 90k on the clock and have an issue when cold. I can reverse out of the garage fine, but once put into drive it won't move forward. Almost feels like I'm on the brakes and when I hit gas it was it will slam into gear or release and start moving forward. Just took it to the shop and they did a trans flush and replaced the filter, saw some metal shavings. Ideas on what this could be? I've heard could be the ECU or something trying to wait until it's warm enough to drive. If so, how much for a new ECU and how hard to replace? BTW, it's fine once it's warm, no rough shifts or anything once at temperature. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.
