Transmission dip stick

Just bought a 2000 T4R and love it. I have a piculiar thing that I found. It is very difficult to insert the dip stick back into the hole. I had to have the dealership insert it. I was afraid of breaking it. Anybody have the same problem. The dealership says it is a bad design.

Yeah you kinda have to force it in.

Mine is the same way. Gotta force it in, but it always comes out straight and reading correctly so I guess its kosher.

I used to have the same problem, but I have learned that if you push the dip stick with an angle, it goes in a little easier. I guess this bad design can go on the list along with the placement of the oil filter.

The original dipstick was cracked so they sent me a new one which I tried to insert but was afraid there was something wrong so I left it till I was around their area and went in and had them install it. I've never had a dipstick that was that difficult to insert

i have found the same thing and pushing harder seems to be the only thing that helps. Really no other thecnique.

Just feed it in by grabbing it a few inches from the tube and keep pushing it in.
