Transmission Failure

My 4R 93 is not working anymore.
Last week I was driving at about 70 MPH when I slow down the speed and felt the transmission was slipping. After pulling over, I checked underneath for oil leak and level. Everythging was Ok.
I started my way ahead and the trasnmission was slipping.
Some minutes after stopped the ruck on the toll booth and now the truck did not work.
Engine was on, but no traction on 2WD or 4WD. Only normal noise of the engine and transmission has a very very little push with no rare noise.
I just wanna know if I need to rebuild the whole transmission or only cahnge some solenoids, relays or whatever.
It is a 1993, 4R 4WD, V6 3VZE, Automatic Transmission

Is there still trans fluid in there? Did you check the level? If you have a trans cooler like my old 'burban (I'm new to the runner) then it could have all leaked into the radiator leaving you with no trans. If you find it's bone dry, fill it up and then look for the leak. To my knowledge the only thing that can produce the symptoms you're describing is loss of fluid. Any major mech problem would feel very different.

Let me be more specific.
I already check oil level and leaks and it is Ok.
Cooling water is clean.
Two weeks ago I was driving my 4R on the highway and it was slow and "forced" at 70MPH. Slowing down the speed I got the tranny switching gears very often.
I decided to change oil and filter and this situation got better.
Some days after, I felt the trasnmission was slipping after a red ligth and after that heppened what I described before.

Anybody has any comment on what to do before I start to dismantle averything???

I have the same exact issue, called around to have it repaired and the lowest price was $1,500 I also called around the junk yards and only found one available and when they showed it to me the case had a crack maybe from an accident.

$1,500 is way too much if the 4R running maybe worth 3 to 4K
tops if I get an offer for around 2500 ill let it go besides the millage on gas was terrible and getting worse but then again if the tranny was slipping so will the millage.

Still have not decided what to do except leave it in the drive way for now.

Any offers ??

This may sound too simple but, make sure you have the gear selector stick completely in Drive and not 'half way' between Drive and 2. As these shifters age, the detents that locate the shifter in the appropriate gears get sloppy. Mine had 185,000 miles on it and has quite a bit of movement in it, even when it's properly located. When I first got my 92, used, I would often 'over shift' and leave the shifter between Drive and 2. This would cause the tranny to shift late or not shift out of 2 in to Drive. I've 'jiggled' the shifter now for about 40,000 miles just to make sure I have it in the right place. It's become second nature and I don't even think about it.

have you checked the throttle body for dirt? MAy need new one.
