My 04 V6 Ltd with 125k miles has been leaking ATF fluid, and it looks like from connection between the filler tube and the ATF pan tube that came apart (don't know how that happened). I couldn't get the 2 tube ends to hold even with the o-ring. So I guess I'll have to replace the filler tube. Hope I don't have to replace the ATF pan as well.
In the meantime, I want to add back the ATF fluid and I can't tell if I need WS or Type T-IV fluid. Is there any way to tell? I went to toyodiy.com site and looked up my vin number and said the transmission is A340 4-speed, so by that site I'll need type T-IV fluid. Is there any other way to verify besides calling the dealer?
Also, since I've never changed the ATF fluid I plan on doing a fill and drain as well. Should I bother changing the ATF filter as well if I ended up having to replace the pan?
