Transmission housing plug came out help please

The one plug on what I think is the transmission housing of my 2016 4Runner virbrated loose. I found a small amount of oil in my garage but I know I drove it some with the plug loose.

There were no rough shifting or warning lights that came on

How can I check the level and add fluid if needed?

The attached photo is looking towards the front of the vehicle.

That’s your transfer case. The plug circled is the fill plug. Remove, pump in fluid (I use Royal Purple SynchroMax(Manual Transmission Fluid)) until it begins to flow out. Put plug and good gasket back in and torque to 27 ft-lbs. if you’ve done Differential(s) before this service is very similiar.

You could also do a full service and drain out the old first. The drain plug is the same size plug to the far left in your picture.

Oil type* Toyota Genuine Transfer gear oil LF or
equivalent

Recommended oil viscosity SAE 75W

You can get this at the dealer-expensive, or use Redline which is a good LF equivalent. Red Line Synthetic Oil. MT-LV 70W/75W GL-4 Gear Oil
