Transmission ID?????

I bought a spare transmission for my 4-runner thinking this guy knew what he was talking about. But when I get around to switching them out I find they are nothing alike. I have figured mine was a G-52 and ended getting it rebuilt at an excellent transmission shop in Austin called Pistoles. Now needless to say I have a transmission that I have no idea what it is, all I know is that it is a Toyota but what I have found on-line always leads to a dead-end. There is no I.d. tag anywhere and the only #'s I've been able to locate are on the steel plate between the cases which is #91006574. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'd think you have a W56 rather than a G52.

A picture of the trans would be more useful.

Thanks for the replys. I was leaning toward the W-series trans my self and I have been trying to get some pics loaded but I'm havin Mac problems
