transmission problem in the morning

well I purchase a 4runner 99 , Im always been a toyota fan cause they never fail and never stop even with 300 000 miles on them, but now after 2 days and in a cold morning when I start engine and put it in drive(d) only accelerate but doesnt respond to walk, this is just for a few seconds, and then when it gets warm it works well all day (excuse my english) but some people has told me its the oil transmission filter, othes fuel ijection cleaning is needed, other said its the slip of transmission so I need an advise please... im new in this forum.... btw I think all the toyota scandal its a business movement from goverment thanx in advance to all ...

I'd start with changing to some frsh fluid...

web research transmission problems

after a deep search in the web I found that this symptom of start cold slip, could be lots of things. the oil filter and flush, battery without adecuate voltage, fuel injection system, and toyota normal functioning and then after a seconds it will drive normal. so Im confused, I changed fuel filter and map sensor, now I changed oil filter and oil but nothing change, somebody said that the brakes or wheel are causing this problem getting stuck there ,, so let me know your options please, im getting out of chances to save my transmission

problem solved

I almost knew it that toyota is not weak..... the problem was...... tatatatannnn.. the brakes the pads have brake fluids and was sticky,, so good mechanics said it was transmission IM happy.... now somebody can tell me what kind of glue I need to put some fender flares that I bough to the 4runner, cause mine is not limited and doenst have holes for the pins and I only want to use glue nut strong..... thanks anyway

Don't use any liquid adhesive to mount body parts. If you don't want to use screws or bolts then use 3M automotive moulding tape.

trans slipping

I had a similar problem with my '99 limited automatic. First thing in the morning, the trans slipped from a standing start only in drive, reverse didn't slip, hummm. It continued for a few minutes then was OK. A transmission flush, new trans filter and fluid fixed the problem. Hope this works for you.

I just experienced this today. Startup at 40 degrees, it had been sitting for 4 days and it was slipping bad in drive but reverse was solid. Let it warm up a couple minutes and no more slipping. Wasn't sure if the sorta dead battery had something to do with it, but now after reading that you found it to be a possible cause it has me wondering why a dead battery would cause that.
