I recently purchased a 1995 4runner to IDE at the hunting camp. 1st couple weeks ran flawlessly. I drove about 2 miles back into the woods in 4 wheel drive no problem I parked and hunted till dark. When I got back to return to camp it would not move. I could shift it from reverse to drive and feel a slight nudge but the engine would rev up but transmission would not in gage. I called a buddy who came and pulled me out of the woods and approx 3 miles back to camp. I had engine running to supply power steering and brakes while being towed. I shifted transmission into drive as we were going about 40 miles per hr. and tach revved up and transmission went to working. I then drove about 10 miles and again worked flawlessly. Next morning would not work. Pulled down road put in drive began working fine. This morning will not work again you can feel it in gage reverse and drive as you shift it but it want pull out of its tracks. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks:bash:

Sounds like your issue is after it sits and the trans is cold. I would first check your ATF fluid level. Do a search on how to check your level, theres a specific procedure to check. If the fluid looks and smells good and the level is correct, then I would check for any diagnostic trouble codes.
