gonna order a new tps tonight. pretty sure its got the original on there

It would be best to TEST the TPS before just throwing parts at it. Sometimes aftermarket parts will cause more problems than they solve. Also, you need a multimeter to adjust the new TPS after install, I believe...

Like Charlie said TEST the TPS sensor. I said best to Test the TPS sensor as it may not be the problem and you be throwing money out of the window.

update: swapped in an oreilly tps sensor and seems to have fixed the rpm drop. Thanks for all the help and suggestions!you guys are great!

Do you have a kick down cable and is it hooked up? TPS, TCC & park/neutral switch seem like possibilities as well.
