Transmission Shift Solenoid E problem

Hello everyone, Ive searched my problem everywhere I could, and I did see the other shift solenoid threads but did not get what I quite needed out of them, I apologize for posting another but it seems my problem is a hair different too. But this started about a month or so ago driving back from school, my CEL came on for P0770 or shift solenoid E which I believe has something to do with torque converter lock up, from what I read that on its own may not be an immediate problem and im a fairly broke. So I waited, a few weeks went like that and on the way home my A/T oil temp light came on so I pulled over for 5 mins, it went off and i was on my way. Since then it has done it intermittently on the highway at about 70 mph and there was a burning (Im assuming trans fluid) smell. Ive flushed the trans, changed the filter and after I did my deckplate mod the CEL went off, we just went on about an hour drive and the CEL immediately came on on the highway and there was the AT light off and on, later accompanied by the burning fluid smell. Any thoughts or suggestions? Would it simply be the solenoid or should it be causing that bad of a problem, it shifts fine most of the time except up hills,

I really don't want to be the bearer of bad news but P0770 pretty much means new tranny. Especially with the symptoms you're already speaking of. Not the end of the world but that's what you're looking at. You can change the solenoid but it'll only be a matter of time before the tranny just doesn't work.

Its a 2000 3.4 v6 with about 235k miles with no aux cooler and its stock other than the isr and deckplate mod

Yes, I did get this code once. Granted, it was after a nasty battle with a mud pit/river. I had numerous codes after that but I roached the tranny. It drove around allright for a day or two and then it died. I recall finding a post from a Toyota master tech addressing the code. It basically said what I stated above.
