Transmission shudder and Engine oil connection?

Wondering if anyone else has had this experience. My 4runner is a one family vehicle, so I know its entire history. We've noticed the "shudder" for a couple of years. Especially noticeable when accelerating up hills.

We've always done oil changes at home, every 5K miles, using conventional oil and Toyota filters. This last change, we decided to switch to a full synthetic w/Toyota filter, mainly due to the higher miles (200k).

Since that fluid change, it is accelerating up hills WITHOUT any shudder. May be anecdotal, but wanted to share this short-term observation. Don't know if everyone with the shudder is running conventional oil.

I've run synthetic oil in my truck since 78k and now have over 200k on mine. Shudder showed up around 125k, only thing that keeps it at bay is the shudder fix.

Oil should make NO difference in th transmission shudder. However, I guess it may be theoretically possible that the oil changed made your computer adjust the VVTI of the engine, which might make it create a slightly different power band, which would affect the torque at which the shudder takes place. I still think it’s a long shot but hate my best guess.
