I have a 2004 4runner with the 4.7v8 in it. My front transmission seal went bad and the trans pumped itself dry so I needed a new transmission. I ended up sourcing a low mileage unit from an '03 4runner. I thought they were the same A750f transmission; aside from the older one having a dipstick and running type IV fluid.
Once I got it in it runs and drives fine. Maybe even shifts smoother than before. The only issue is it's throwing some codes now and causing not only the check engine light but the trac and vsc light too.
The codes are P2759 which is torque converter presseure solenoid
and P1340 which I think is unrelated...however, the check engine light wasn't on before the trans swap.
So I'm wondering if I need to try and replace the shift solenoid or if the 03 trans isn't communicating with the 04 TCM.
Any thoughts?
