Transmission test, advice needed

I am getting around to addressing the issue of my 88 3.0 auto not shifting into overdrive. The rest of the gears shift great.
I assume it is a solenoid issue and from what I could find there is a "manual shift" test you can do to confirm it is a solenoid issue. You are supposed to road test after you remove the solenoid wire connector.
In my searches I have seen multiply images and they all look different.

Can someone please tell me exactly where this connector is? There are multiple connectors on the drivers side of the trans. I have seen pix of the tranny and some of the engine compartment so I really dont know where the connector is that I am supposed to disconnect to do the road test.
The more basic you can instruct me the better. (if you can post a pix even better)

Appreciate the help!

t stat and water pump were changed, I was having this issue before and after those parts were changed. All the "under the hood" components that could cause OD not to work have been checked.

that is why I wanted to see if the solenoids are failing and wanted to do this test.
I just need a little help pointing out where the wires are that I am supposed to unplug

I got my answer! I disconnected the ECU for the tranny and manually shifted. OT worked fine.
Now I know what I am doing this weekend, changing a few solenoids!
