Transmission Whine

After trailoring boat 2000 miles this fall, my 2000 - 4Runner (150K miles) has developed a transmission whine at low speeds. I had transmission oil changed but whine still remains. Regular maint done for all of the 150K miles. Any ideas on root cause?

Did your transmission oil got over heated? (A/T temp light will light up)

Are you towing with the overdrive ON (enabled) ?

I've read not to do that.
