If they just rebuilt the tranny and the AT light is on, The transmission is slipping. It might not be slipping enough for you to notice, but when it starts to slip the fluid gets really hot.
As for the tranny cooler, you shouldn't need one. I'm running my tranny with only the radiator trans cooler and it doesn't over heat. I'm also running 14psi on my motor and pulling a full sized car trailer with cars on them. I usually tow until my tank is empty and within the 4 or so hours of driving on the interstate my tranny still isn't overheating.
You would need to bring it back to them and tell them to fix the problem and not just install a bigger cooler! Now the bigger cooler might fix the light problem but will not fix the transmission. In the long run the tranny will go out again. You want them to fix the problem and not work around the problem.
