AVIC-Z130BT Install
First mod, although I don't know if this can truly be considered a mod.
Just ordered and installed the AVIC-Z130BT Pioneer NAV unit. I also installed the IPOD cable and the 920XM receiver. Here's a couple of things I ran into that I'd like to pass along.
1. Space behind the radio is tight. Cable management is a must for proper fit. I was able to move a good bit of the factory wiring harness over towards the passenger side of the radio opening for more space.
2. There's a perfect spot between the two HVAC ducts right behind the radio for the XM and GPS antennas. I stuck the metal mounting pad on the molded plastic between the two and both antennas fit nicely right next to each other. Unfortunately, I get poor XM reception here, so I will probably be moving both antennas to the cargo rack mounting covers in the near future.
3. The VSS wire was found behind the HVAC controls. It was a Violet/Red wire like others have indicated. My first tap didn't work. I moved to another Violet/Red and it worked fine. Not sure if it was a bad tap or if one of the Violet/Red wires is something else.
4. I couldn't find the reverse wire in the driver's kick panel. I did, however, find it under the trim next to the drivers seat at the junction where the harness T's along the door jamb and the drivers seat harness. Tapped it here and it's working perfectly.

I've been out of town, so I just got a chance to add pictures to the above post.
A couple of other things to add.
I moved the GPS/XM antennas from the original location to under the front cargo rack covers. I hoped that this would fix my XM reception problems, but it doesn't seem to have. It is much better, but I still occasionally lose reception driving around in open areas in town. I wish there was a signal strength indicator for XM like there is for GPS, but there doesn't seem to be.
Maybe my antenna is bad, but I removed it from my truck just two weeks ago and everything was working fine. Don't think it got damaged pulling it out or installing it, but that's all I know to do at this point.
Otherwise, very happy with this install.
