TRD Aux. Tranny Cooler

Does the TRD aux tranny cooler have a bypass to prevent overcooling? I have seen plenty of discussion regarding the need for this feature when driving in cold climates, but did not see if the TRD was equipped.

Why don't you just get a TRU COOL tranny cooler. So much cheaper than the TRD one. Also,the low pressure drop design means it allows cold transmission fluid to flow through larger passages allowing the fluid to bypass the cooler to reach operating temperature faster and avoid over cooling in cold weather.

I guess you're paying for their name and it's popularity. Kinda like why am i paying too much for Pepsi where i can get a cheap Shasta Cola.

It'll cool your transmission while you're doing some long drives thru the hot desert or during the summertime..

It'll cool your transmission while you're doing some long drives thru the hot desert or during the summertime..

And it'll help prolong fluid and transmission life in demanding, summertime conditions like driving around Brooklyn during rush hour

I live in Atlanta and our traffic is rough on fluid even with an unloaded vehicle.

To me transmission cooler are super-cheap transmission insurance...

Another benefit of adding an external tranny cooler (and bypassing the in-radiator cooler) is to prevent the "strawberry milkshake of doom" from happening to your truck. I don't know if this applies to 4th gens, but it has happened many, many times with the 3rd gens.
