TRD Cold Air Intake for 4.7L V8?

I know this has been asked before, but I am just curious. Is this the right part number? PTR03-0C090. I was checking toyotaoempartsworld.com and it showed this part number. I am not sure if it will fit 4th gen V8. Thanks for your comment guys n gals.

I don't think there is a trd cai for the v8 I used k&n

for the V8 I would suggest just buying a nice drop in filter, the intake on the V8 is a pretty good design.

AFE dry filter or Airaid Synthmax

you can use an oiled filter like the K&N, as long as you know how to properly oil them. they can mess up your mass airflow sensor if you over oil it.

I run a drop in K&N with no issues thus far. Very true that it is easy to over oil your K&N filter if you do not buy it pre-oiled.

Damn, now I read this. I just cleaned and re-oiled my filter today. I followed the directions but you have me second guessing myself. What kind of problems might I be looking at if I over did it with the oil?

it'll suck the oil through the filter and then the oil gets on your mass air sensor and throws it off, I think all you have to do is clean the MAF if this happens.

If you followed the directions and didn't go too crazy with the oil you should be ok. also I think you have to let the filter dry for a good amount of time, can't remember.

I just ordered an AIRAID Synthamax dry filter, i'll report back once it shows up. I can't be bothered with an oiled filter these days.

Thanks for the reply. I let it dry 30 mins, 10 more than called for. I drove an extra 30 Km out of my way back home from work today to see if any lights lit up or something sounded/seemed out of the ordinary. I would be interested in hearing how the Airraid works for you.

I picked up a dry filter by afe for $40. Aftermarket CAI's are loud.

Okay I don't see how this will ever help with MPG's... I always have my foot on the damned peddle to hear that beautiful sound!! How did I ever live without a CAI??

I decided to try the TRD drop-in over the K&N because my price on the TRD was cheaper. Doubt there is any difference between the two.

I believe this is the 4Runner part number: PTR03-35090. The one above appears to be for the Tundra.

Maybe, but no one answered the original question in the thread and those of using the search function are left with only the wrong part number.

I just looked up that part number on eBay and it appears to be for V6 applications not V8 as requested in the OP. Since I have a V8, I was naturally curious when I saw this thread pop up
