TRD decals

Just looking for feedback...I really don't want to look like a poser. My 4Runner has the rear locking differential and I really like the look of those TRD decals, what would make my Runner qualify as a TRD edition parts wise? Is the E locker sufficient or do I need some special suspension, breather, etc?

BAH! Do what you want man.... poser or not! :) I find the truck looks a little naked without the "TRD" decal on them. People like to say that it's a poser move.... but I say... POSE ON! :D

You won't qualify in a 4Runner.

They didn't make TRD 4Runners.

Slap a supercharger on it if you feel like a poser. That will help with the Toyota "Racing" Development.

Otherwise, just put the thing on there, just put it on right. LOL.

Like so.

Let me google that for you

I have been hunting these down for mine. Im thinking Blcktpgsr had them custom made. The silver and red on black looks nice on his.

I have been looking for a spoiler just like the one pictured sorry to get off topic but where did you find that ?
Pm me if you want.

I put a pair of those on my '00 as soon as I bought it! No e-locker, no supercharger. Just a reliable Yota 4WD.

Life's too short to worry about being a poser. Fix your truck how you like and as long as you like it that's what matters!

fightman80 hows the decals work on the gas cap cover? I was curious about that earlier.

I laid the decal down, and then cut along the gas door, to ensure it was all lined up properly. It takes some time to do properly, but if you have patience, it's not too bad... :)

The only real TRD parts made for our trucks are the TRD supercharger, TRD exhaust, and TRD header.

I dont have any of them so I guess Im a poser too!!

My intent was not to insult anyone fyi. Just getting some opinions from people that do and do not have them as I know there were never any TRD model 4Runners. I think I will hold off, even though they do look good.

Much like all the stuff I've bolted on the old beater, I put a TRD decal on because I liked it. A lot!

Regards ...... 8sm

They cost well over $100 if you can find them, but they are far less common and more shuttle.

Taco has TRD edition. It came with cheap bilstein shocks. Lot of runners on here has way more work and better inproved mods and suspension.

Although I am still considering putting a TRD sticker on mines also. I like the sticker but I don't have TRD anything. That's why I have not slapped one on yet. I wouldn't mind putting a sticker near the gas cap. But not sure if I want a TRD sticker. I do like seeing it on other vehicles. And have no problem with it. Maybe I'm self conscious :\ or never like sporting something I don't have. That with everything in life not just TRD stickers.

x2 I only put stickers on for gear I am/used to run, and so far TRD doesn't qualify though I think they look super sexy! I would want to go with something more custom so might have to hit sn0wrunner up when the time arrives.

My 1998 Trd Tacoma had rear locker, skid plates, bilstien shocks (4600s?). So, I guess if you wanted to feel justified in putting the decal on, adding a locker and upgrading the shocks would probably do it.

Well he HAS the locker, and most if not all 4Runner's come with factory skidplates, so aside from Bilstein shocks, he's got it all.

That being said, I don't have a locker, and I'd never spend more money to put in a locker, and bilstein shocks, just so I can install some $30.00 stickers??

I personally couldn't care less about the "poser status".... Not sure if he actually wheels his truck or not, but I can honestly say I don't. I still rock my TRD Offroad decals.... but that's just me. I normally don't care what anybody thinks about me or what I do... :D

The way I see it, it's your truck, do what you want with it. Even if it means you want to plastidip your tail lights, bedline your whole truck, or mount your spare tire on the hood of your truck. It's all about personal preference, and in a world of vehicle customization, I find too many people focus on what is socially acceptable, rather than what they really want. :)

I actually just put the Bilstein 4600s on a few months ago lol. So now I have the Elocker, skidplate, and Bilsteins, guess my 4R is TRD Edition now ha.

I do some light wheeling, no rock crawling, but moderate trails. Perhaps I shouldn't said "poser" but I felt it was a little misleading like putting 5.0 badges on a foxbody mustang with a V6, you know?
