TRD EXHAUST on a 5th Gen

I have the exact exhaust with the side pipe. I mean if you wanted to get the full cat back system you could but I think welding on a new muffler and getting some pipe work done saves money with the same effect. I can post up some pics tomorrow if you want just say what you want to see.

I would love to see how a 2011 Magnaflow exhaust with side exit look on a 2014-2015 4runner

Nailed it. Just swap out the muffler for a much more cost efficient change to make more noise. I went with a FlowMaster 50 series muffler on my Tacoma for a nice mellow rumble, $150 out the door from a local exhaust shop.

Don't know if you guys have seen this or not. This guy was the prototype for magnaflow cat back.

They do. I have one on mine, sounds great and was pretty easy to install.

I was so excited when I saw that video, then when I looked at their website and saw that they went with a 2.5" pipe/straight exit I was bummed.

Great video, but I don't know why they deviated from the prototype set up so much...

That's not a prototype system, that's the 2010-2011 system, they changed to straight out the back for the 2012 and up I'm assuming to accommodate all the models not just the trail because of the differences in bumpers.

Why would you want something bigger then 2.5" unless you are doing Forced Induction?

Here yall go I hope this works. When I was looking at getting a muffler I wanted as many pics as I could get so this should help. It was a little overcast but since I cant control the sun it was as good as it was going to get haha.

Interesting. I was mostly interested in the side exit. I don't like the straight exit. 2.5" is probably fine but the 3" in the video sounded great!

Big difference from a muffler shop special to a full cat back exhaust.

Muffler shop = crush bent
full Cat Back = Mandrel Bent

the are a few exhaust shop I know of that can do Mandrel bent piping.. Which is what I am comtemplating instead of a flowmaster exhaust. Because I want the cat back to be more for off road and tucked away. Kinda like the MBRP exhaust for off road.

Then again I might just buy a MBRP off road exhaust and see if they fit.

Sounds good. They didn't axtually bend the pipe I already owned, they replaced it with a pipe that came with a bend in it already. If I was going for an offroad exhaust and worried about hitting the rear pipe or my exhaust I would probably tell them to try to tuck the muffler close to the body and install a turn down. That way you'll never hit it.
