TRD Exhaust Pics

I bought a TRD exhaust off of eBay for $699...

I put the exhaust on yesterday, and since I haven't seen any pics anywhere, I thought I'd give you all a chance to look at it...

It's a solid unit, no exhaust clamps, gives a mellow burble at idle, with a slightly louder note under power... No 2K drone is noticable...

Here's the exhaust out of the box...

The old system...

Sawzalls work best for those stubborn bolts in the back...;):

This shows the Y-pipe over the back axle, splitting to the driver's side exhaust...

And with the driver's side exhaust attached, a view of the clearance after the install... It doesn't look like any clearance has been lost...

So it looks like the TRD exhaust is NOT the exact same system as the Borla. On my Borla system, there are 2 pipes coming out of the muffler whereas on the TRD the pipes split into 2 after the muffler. I actually removed my Borla system a month ago because I was tired of the 2k drone. It sounds like the TRD might be better in that area. Thanks for the pics!

I was uncomfortable with the Borla clamps vs the TRD flanges, which is the reason I went this direction...

I love the sound, especially which during the "butt dyno" test I ran today...

No measureable reading on the dyno, but I "felt" much quicker... :D

You know we have a lot of dedicated members on the board. I've noticed that statement a lot.

BTW - I can't wait till we put a T4R - VA day together to see your exhaust.

Damn, that looks nice. Was it hard to put together?

It was harder to take the old system off... I spent an hour trying to get the back nuts off, said fork it and grabbed the sawzall...

30 minutes later the new exhaust was on...

It reuses the spring bolts from the cat flange, uses 4 new bolt/locking nuts for the Y-pipe, and 1 more bolt got the drivers side hanger attached... That bolt goes into the frame, into an existing welded bolt inside the frame... Just like they planned it... :D

Wife says "it sounds louder"...:rolleye2:

exhaust looks great and the tip just sets it off. It looks perfect! But where else can you get the trd exhaust besides ebay?

I went with eBay because it was $200 less than retail, from a Toyota dealer, and could be here in 2 days...

Look here for a list of vendors...
