I searched and couldn't find the answer I wanted. Doe the TRD front skid plate go over the existing protection or is there removal of a stock plate first? Thanks

I have not installed one but I am fairly certain you do/would have to remove any OEM skid that was there.
While on the subject, I know the Trails have OEM skids do SR5's and Limiteds aswell? Thinking they do buy only the front and not gas tank.

I think from what I have researched is that you cannot have the TRD Pro Skid plate if you have KDSS on your vehicle. The sway bar gets in the way.

WOW good to know. I am ordering a TEP with KDSS this week. If this wont fit then I wont add it to he order.
this is very helpful! thank you!
It will fit with some mods. You just need trim the sides of the skid and remove the lower radiator support brackets. Most aftermarket skids have you remove these as well.
I don't know if the KDSS is different but on non-KDSS you do not need to remove the lower radiator brackets for the TRD skid. Just the front skid.

I'm trying to remove the original skid plate to install the TRD skid and the front passenger side bolt on the original skid will not budge! The head of the bolt is beginning to get stripped and the socket is starting to slip.
Suggestions on how to loosen the bolt? The dealership was going to charge me $66 to install it when I had my service done and I told them I'd do it myself. Now I'm wishing they'd done it with this seized bolt.
