TRD Leather Seat Covers

I recently purchased an 04' Sport. I wanted leather seats, but really wanted to get the sport model. The dealer said they could get me after market leather seat covers for around $1000. He did not have any I could look at, so I told him I would pass. I did not want to spend the money without being able to see them first. As luck would have it, after I took delivery of my truck I saw an SR5 with the TRD leather seats, and they look pretty good. anybody know if these seat covers are available anywhere?

Murray,

I do not know about TRD leather but I have an '03 Sport with leather. It came as a factory option with the vehicle. I ordered it that way. Anyway, if you are looking for nice leather, I can give some help. My little bro just bought a car and he said that he wanted to add leather. I did some searching and found a company called Katzkin Leather. They make leather packages that actually are duplicates of the cloth covers that cover your seat now except leather. So, a shop or you could install these and they would fit exactly like a stock seat cover. I have seen some vehicles locally in my research and they look awesome!! If I would have known this I would have ordered these instead of getting the factory $1500 leather. Hope this helps. Later,

Toybox,

The leather is identical to the leather in the Limited (well, according to the salesman, don't know if that is true or not). But, yes they do have the pocket on the back. It also has the little piece that keeps stuff from going under the seat. It is extremely nice leather. I have some friends that have leather in their cars. One guy has a Lincoln Mark VIII. The leather in my truck is nicer than his; he paid over $40,000 for his car.

Back to the Katzkin leather, I forgot to mention that you can customize the leather seat covers to your liking, as you know you can not with the factory. You can have any combination of leather on each seat and get any piping on the leather as well for no extra cost. If I was to do it all over again, I would go that route.

Murray those seats were probably Katzkin leather wrapped with a TRD logo etched into them. They do good custom work like that. Another good company is Cerullo seats. They are in the Toyota Performance Products catalog and my father had them match racing buckets to the trim color in his old Dakota.

I think you can get vinyl for like 800-900 and leather is 1000 up. I had a buddy get aCivic wrapped around here in vinyl and it cost him 800 (front back and two doors)

Uh, I got a quote on a new Corolla with leather all the way around here for $850 installed. For a 4Runner I would imagine not much more. you could try there website or just call around locally to see if anyone is a dealer around there.

Aftermarket leather

I had leather added to my 2004 V6 SR5. I chose the factory colour. It turned out awesome. Cost me $1350 including third row seats.

I just priced the classic soft trim TRD leather seat covers.

$1269 + tax Full set installed.

$1052 + tax Full set uninstalled

$632 + tax Front seats only uninstalled.

Sounds reasonable and they look great!

My 04 Sport had the leather installed at the port, Southeast toyota. They do look good, BUT, not as good as the factory leather on the limited models. There was a brochoure in the car from the co that installed them, I wish I could find it. I want to know there name.

Has anyone actually installed aftermarket leather in a 4runner?
I am interested in buying a package and doing it myself and I'm just curious what I might be getting into...
I've looked into Classic Soft Trim, Katskinz an a few others.
In addition, I will be adding seat heaters as well. I've found several companies that offer nice products.
Anyone done this yet?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Brandon
