TRD Neoprene Seat Covers

I get Off-Road Adventure magazine and there was an article on a Tacoma Project and they had TRD Neoprene Seat Covers, looked pretty cool...I cant find them anywhere, they might be custom made just wanted to see if anyone has seen them. They say they are from TRD but I couldnt find them online. If you scroll down a little more than half you will see the picture and description.

Yeah, i thought they did custom embroidery. Those seat covers are $$ though...are they really worth it? Do you have any experience with them?
 
My wife has Wet Okole seat covers on our 2003 4Runner. We've had them for over a year now and they are holding up just fine. The passenger side has some stains that I haven't tried to remove yet (I just bought their wetsuit shampoo). They seem to make the seats cooler than stock in summer (in SoCal).

Any other questions, just ask.
 
Those seat covers are not custom made... They are offered as a accessory for the 2005 Toyota Tacoma Sport Seats.

Check ebay for them, some are going for about $190.00 bucks or so.

Wet Okole's are good too, but will cost ya another $50.00 bucks.
 
Cool, thanks...i see them for $160 on ebay now the thing is to find out if they would fit on my '03 4runner sport seats...I emailed the seller who is a Toyota Dealer so we will see if they know
 
I would check performance products, they sell the wet okoles but they also have their own brand now which are a bit cheaper. I had the perf products vinyl covers they sell before I got leather and they were nice, waterproof and held up well. They were not the neoprene but it is something else to check out, they have both types. The pictures of the tacome seats don't look all that tight to me, I see wrinkles in those covers and therefore they are not tight enough, the ones I had fit better than that.

I got a response from the seller on eBay about those seat covers, here it is:

"sorry the seat covers will only work on the 2005 models the seats are bigger than 2004 and down. thanks pam"


oh well...i just liked them with the TRD logo...looks cool

I would almost bet those 05 Covers would fit the new 03+ Runner Sport seats.

They showed up today. Won't have a chance to put them on until Sunday. The material is odd. The black center section is ribbed, the grey is smooth, the black outside is mesh...ish.

Pics by monday.
 
They don't fit. Not even close. Looks like the taco sport seats have raised 'shoulder' areas (i.e. there is an indentation for the headrest). The headrest cover doesn't even fit.

I wonder if they'll take a return...

Have you tried the non-sport seat covers?
