V2009

Dealer drilled lovely holes in front air deflector valance for license plates on trd pro... :faint:( still don't understand why they cant do it after they sell the car and not before ) Anyways, does anyone know how to replace that peace ? is it hard process? Do i need to remove the whole front bumper for that? I know it has 17 clips but I'm not sure if i can just remove them and reuse them for new valance.

Thanks

I removed the bumper to replace mine. It's not hard, probably takes 20 minutes or so. Once the bumper is off, just use a screwdriver to pop the clips off and remove the old valance. There are plenty of youtube videos demonstrating the removal.

It's not difficult at all.

You should probably buy a few extra clips just in case you break one.

You don't have to take the front bumper off. You remove the radiator cover at the top, loosen the windscreen plastic sheath at the bottom and you can get to most of the clips easily. A couple of clips are going to scrape up your arms. Getting them off is more difficult than reinserting them.

The front has 13 or 14 (can't remember) clips.

I have 2 silver (front and back) OEM with less than 400 miles on them if you're interested in going Silver instead of Black.

Thanks! I will definitely try without removing the bumper first. I wish I can find a video on that somewhere. Also thanks for the offer but I need the black one with out holes in them..

so they drilled holes after you purchased it? sounds like they destroyed your property and they need to own replacing it free of charge and a a are minimum free oil change post warranty for your inconvenience.

FWIW: A front license plate is required in Comifornia. Most likely why they drilled.

No, they drilled it as soon as they got the cat on the lot, even though I told the salesperson multiple times not to... so now i have another mod on the list .. )

That is correct! But they really should drill after the sale, unless buyer tells them otherwise and sings a waiver for not having front license plates install.

did they drill before or after you paid for the truck?

They drilled before, sale person didn't see that it arrived to a dealership already even though the arrival date was this weekend. So they prep it and install front license :smash:
If someone is waiting for one to arrive and dont want holes in the front, I recommend to let the saleperson know ( ten times ) to put a multiple notes around the car once its there.

I would be having them replace that at there cost. When I buy a new vehicle I make sure they don’t add anything. Especially the decal dealership name. They slap them on all the vehicles and a lot of times the license plate mount has there name on.

Completely agree. When I went to pick mine up, the rear bumper was covered with light scratches. Had them replace the entire bumper before I would take it. They will do it. They don’t want to get dinged on their Toyota Customer Service survey.
