Hey all,
See the specs in sig for current setup. 57K miles later between the preloading and extra weight from the slimline bumper and roof rack, I am getting a pretty rough ride up front with an occasional clunk and some bottoming out. I am also getting a decent amount of sag on the front (about 1").
I was thinking a spring with a higher spring rate (thinking 600lb versus the 520lb stock) would help the sag. If I could find taller springs, then I could ditch the spacers (and preloading problem) and hopefully get a better ride. Unfortunately that spring (600lb and 2" of lift) for use on TRD pro shocks doesn't exist. Dobinsons is working on one but it is not currently available.
So I am thinking about just replacing the whole front setup with 6112's which happen to come with 600lb springs. My understanding is that these are identical to stock TRD pros but adjustable height. They would provide enough height adjustment to level out with the SAW coils in the back (I got 2" lift with them) and the spring rate increase is a similar percentage (15% increase on front, 12% increase with the SAW coils). My questions:
Is this dumb? Is there an easier fix that I am missing?
Will this work with the factory TRD pro rears and SAW coils how I mentioned?
I am not interested in ICONS, Fox, Kings, etc. Well, I am :hail: because they are cool but they would be overkill for me. Vast majority of my miles are on the highway with a handful of camping trips each year that get some off roading. No rock climbing either.
Thanks for the help. I have spent the last two days on this site reading through countless threads on suspensions . Head is spinning haha.
