Hey guys,

I’m in the market for a new rig. And I have a few questions.

What did you guys pay for the PRO?
what’s the wait time?
Was your allocated or transfer from a different dealer?

The few places I asked around is doing msrp for it with no mark up but the waiting time varies.

Thanks

I had death wobble on my Jeep and walked into a local dealer that had a Pro. I wanted white and the cost to swap was too cost prohibitive. I paid $51000 for the Pro.

I paid 45k. Walked in looking at Tacomas and realized the quad cab was still too small for comfort with a rear-facing infant car seat. Test drove the Pro (Black) and signed the papers later the same week.
Larger volume dealers seem to be able to keep a couple Pros on the lot (between Tacoma, Tundra and 4R). For example, the week after I bought mine, I went back to the dealer to have a paint chip repaired and there was a Voodoo 4R already on the lot to replace the one I purchased.
When I was looking, smaller dealers did tell me there were offered as order only.

I assume your new black one is a 2019?

I would say hold out. The pro specific colors like army green and cement will be available on the 2021’s as a standard color option.

That being said my pro was msrp in 2017, made it a point not to pay dealer mark up even for the pro specific color

Did you see information that Cement and Army Green would be available across the entire model lineup? What I saw stated specifically cement and army green would be for the upcoming trail edition only.

I watched Autotrader.com for a while and the dealer I bought my FJ Cruiser got one in and the day I saw it on Autotrader, I called and went in and bought it.

I paid sticker price, which was c. $43,000 in 2017. I know the new models have sticker prices that are c. $50,000, so I cannot say what people are paying for the current model.

But Look on Autotrader.com and do not be afraid to travel to pick one up, as the prices can be lower if you are willing to travel.

I picked up a 2020 in the green with the running boards and read slide thing that was an extra 1000 ish. I paid 49.6k.

As a Pro owner. I know there will be a lot of pissed off owners with the Pro special color. But everything is about manufacturers making money and there not going to say it now. But I will not be surprised if they do offer the Cement and AG in the trail edition you will not get certain things from the Pro but you will probably pay extra money for that special color paint.

I see you're in CA, so make sure you focus on CA pricing, which is MUCH higher than the rest of the country. The going rate is at MINIMUM MSRP or up to $10K premium in SoCal, particularly for the Army Green. Novelty is starting to wear off as more become available, but it is difficult to find one in SoCal. The ones that arrive on the lot are already sold. You could be waiting a month or more for a Pro depending on the color you want.

Trying to purchase one in CA will likely cost you more. If you're open to buying out of state, that should net a better deal. I realize we may be in different parts of the MY as I purchased a 2019 in 4Q 2019 whereas the 2020s are not even mid-cycle yet but shopping out of state netted a deal 14% off MSRP on a 2019 where local dealers here in CO were 5-6% off at best. CA dealers weren't even competitive, standing firm at $10k over MSRP for the dealers who had one on the lot. I didn't get a competitive offer from most dealers west of the Mississippi and best deals were in the SE region. GA and FL were best. NC/SC right behind those two. Autonation dealerships are also very firm on pricing no matter the region.

AG Pro

My wife only wanted the AG so I had to go with the Pro. I looked around three states and found one here in AL that was due in so we bought it 11 days later when it came in. We paid MSRP, this is the first time in 35 years we paid sticker for a car. We paid cash with no trade.

If I was buying for me I would have went with the TRD ORP 10% off MSRP and built it the way I wanted like I did my Taco.
