TRD Pro Rim with stock suspension?

So I see 265/75R16 as the generally accepted largest tire size on a stock rim with no or minimal rubbing. This is the same size as 265/70R17 which I would put on the TRD Pro Rim.

Am I missing something with wheel offsets or should it just work?

This is for a daily driver that does no offroading so I want to keep the suspension stock.

I currently have 265/70/17 on my TRD Pro wheels on my 3rd gen. I also have a 3" lift and experience no rubbing. Offset on the TRD pro wheels are 17x7 +4, but shouldn't be much of a difference from the original 5 star wheels at 16x7 +15, which yields a 11mm difference.

You shouldn't experience any rubbing with stock suspension with the same tire combination. 265/75/16 and 265/70/17 both measure a diameter of 31.6".

The pro wheels should be the same width and the backspacing is only .125" less than the factory 16" rins. So, you should be fine.

Honestly, unless you really want the Toyota brand, I see zero value in buying the TRDP wheels. There are plenty of perfectly good aluminum wheels all over the internet, available in a near-infinite number of designs and specs, and which neither cost nor weigh more than the Pro wheels.

Hi,

New to the forum and had a quick question. Was reading this thread and was just trying to make sure, I ordered the 16 inch trd pro rims and going to put them on my limited 4wd 1998 4runner. Its completely stock and I have 16 inch rims now. Just trying to make sure I wont have to add a lift or anything because they are both 16 inch. Thanks

You'll have some rubbing. I ended up having to go 5100s when I first went to 17s.
