TRD Pro Rims National Back Order

I ordered an Off Road Premium with the black TRD wheels almost eight weeks ago. It is due for delivery early next week and the dealer just let me know that I can't get the TRD wheels owing to the stop sale order. I'm seriously ticked about it so I am looking for options to which I can hold the dealer.



They only told me after I inquired about the price on a TRD skid plate that I intend to modify to fit KDSS and was told that they can no longer order TRD accessories except for the Pro.

This is my first new car in the last 15 years and I intend to do keep my T4R at least that long so I want quality.

Powder coat the Premiums?

Have them buy after markets?

Any suggestions?

Or leave the stock wheels as they are. I kept trying to come up with reasons to spend $700 on the grey Pros, but the stock wheels are just fine.

Stock would be just fine if they are available in matte black which I don't believe they are. You guys would make my day if you told me they are and I overlooked it by being focused on the Pros.

Powdercoat the stock wheels. Really like how mine turned out and haven't seen another like it in my area. I was waiting on black PRO wheels too but am glad I went this route now. :tea:

I'd go with the FNs. Better offset. Lighter, Wider and you can make your own TRD center caps.

Those look great. Any indication as to how they compare to the OEM quality and durability? I'll likely be putting them to the test in your neck of the woods btw.

a lot of folks have run various wheels designs from FN, no issues that I am aware of but I am no wheel expert. I talked with them about those wheels and almost pulled the trigger but I still love the stock trail wheels the best and they are "free"

Those look great! I was actually going to powder coat my Trail rims but at the last second decided to get the FNs. Mostly because they are wider and lighter. Not do to looks.

FN has made quite a few different variations of rims. Everyone seems extremely happy so I wouldn't worry about anything.

Powder coated trail rims look awesome and FNs are a solid choice.

I found a set of the black TRD rims, ptr2035110bk. The Toyota dealer probably still has the gray TRD rims, ptr2035110gr. markie671 did a lot of leg work that allowed me to refocus my search.

If you are going to find the TRD rims, it is going to be from a Toyota dealer that has them on-premise and doesn't sell online. Possibly one 1 rim will be a display. I walked into a Toyota dealer and saw a TRD rim in black w/BFG T/A KO2 and 1 TRD in gray w/Nitto Terra Grappler G2 at the parts department. They had the other 3 TRD black and gray rims in the back. I bought their ptr2035110bk set.

Mine was Satin finish. I paid $300 flat which included doing the center caps and keeping the chrome Toyota emblem, which was a cool touch as it really helped match the chrome lugs.

17x8 + 0 matte black, bronze, metallic gloss gunmetal and matte gunmetal.

They are cheaper then the TRD wheels. I am local to FN so I picked mine up.

You can call Dustin @ FN to get a set. There are many threads on here with pictures. You can get TRD center caps for them, or run the clean, flat, no logo center caps as well.
