TRD Pro Rims National Back Order

Not sure if people are still looking. Thought I'd be useful and share a tidbit I got recently.

LA area distro last had 53 TRD Pro wheels (as recently as 1 week ago, today being 4/10/2017). They were holding them specifically as replacements for vehicles and are not selling unless dealer provides proof of need for replacement (like one for one exchange).

POC said the backorder was 3+ months. Just sharing, in case anyone was curious what the latest was, and what some of the rationale is.

I purchased the TRD rims with my 4runner at the beginning of April and was informed the next day that toyota had a stop sale on them until mid June. Sucks having to wait that long!

Rims look good, but I couldn't deal with those fluorescent lugnuts.

Having planned on the TRD wheels for my SR5 it appears that the FN are a solid choice as well.

So here is my generalized question as there are so many numbers being thrown around.

What tire and wheel size will fit my 17 SR5 without making any extra mods?

If you have a stock SR5 you may be able to squeeze some 275 BFG KO2s. Otherwise just stick to the stock size.

You will most likely rub 275s with no lift running the FN TRD wheels. It only takes minor trimming, removing the front mud flaps and pushing the liner forward.

I cannot say enough about Dustin at FN. Not only is the product wonderful, the customer service is top notch. I have a different FN wheel so I will stay out of the conversation on that part but the quality is outstanding.

Has anyone ever tried plasti dipping and using the TRD pro center cap on the trail stock rims.

Pretty sure I read that the center cap won't fit those wheels.

The FN's won't rub with stock tire size and stock suspension. In fact, member 2016 4Runner SR5 ran 285s with FN's and stock suspension with only moderate rubbing (removed mud flaps and light trimming I believe).

Sweet. Thanks for repeating what I said. I quoted my experience with 275s with no lift. I had to trim, move the liner forward and trim.

So I've only had my Black TRD Pro Wheels for a couple of months and now that I won't be able to get a 5th for my bumper I'm looking at other options. I'll most likely get a new set I'm going to look for another week or two. I'm just trying to see what the interest is with people that are looking for these.

Depending on your timetable for the rear bumper, these are scheduled to come off of backorder sometime around June or July this summer. 1 wouldn't be a hard order to fill and some dealership could square you away in short order.

where? I can't get one filled, and i have an actual TRD PRO. Toyota wanted pictures of car with damaged wheel to process it.
