Trd pro

OLD BOB

New member
Yesterday I picked up my new green TRD. I now have 99 miles on it. The ride is as good as my wife's limited. Paint is good and I have found no flaws yet. The pedalmax is on the way. I hope that this will wake it up as the performance is lacking.
For the past 9 years I have been driving FJ Cruisers. Trail teams, one 2011 and one 2012. I hope that the 4rnr performance is equal to the FJ after the break in period. The ride is better but the turning radius is a little greater. The 4rnr is much quieter inside than the FJ.
Although the overall length is almost the same (outside spare on the FJ) the inside room is much greater. The lane signal is distracting but if I don't get used to it I can turn it off. the auto door locks have to go. I am old and senile but I can still lock the doors when needed.
A good feature is that the DRL can be turned off. This is a good thing when on a boat ramp early in the morning. Some fishermen get really grumpy when trying to back down the ramp with lights shining in their eyes.
This is my first post though I have been reading the forum for several months to get input about the TRD Pro before buying.
I am a long time off road enthusiast. I have way too many off road toys but this 4rnr will be my daily driver.
I look forward to continuing to read toe forum and participate occasionally.

OLD BOB ...Welcome Bob.....yea, lots of good stuff to learn here!.....Its helped me a lot in my build......and yea, def. recommend a "pedal commander" or equivalent....it woke my slug up so much, and makes it feel like a complete different vehicle......I could not stand that "slow lag" while driving around town trying to save fuel!.....much better now!!...enjoy your build and the site!

You're learning what I found out 7 years ago, the Trail/TRD versions of the 4Runner are vastly superior to the FJ Cruiser.
