TRD Supercharger available?

Hello,

I have a 2005 4Runner SR5 2WD and was wondering if TRD was ever going to plan on coming out with a supercharger. I thought I read somewhere that a guy had one installed but I wasn't sure what year his car was nor if it was TRD or something else. I've been waiting and can't find any information on the TRD website. Thanks for your help everyone.

TRD discontinued the V8 supercharger in 2004 and didn't give much reason. It was probably due to the fact that they were going to introduce VVTI in 2005 but I can't back that up in any way.

They showcased the Toyota X-Runner using the 4.0L V6 with a supercharger at SEMA, so maybe there will be an offering for the V6 owners. But maybe not

Does anyone know if there is any way to purchase a S/C kit direct from a manufacturer like Eaton or Alpine?

I have a 2005 4Runner, 4WD, Limited V8. I looked into the supercharger. The tech I talked to told me that the regional sales rep had one in his V8, I'll spare you the tall tale that followed. However in the end he also told me that Toyota does not offer them for the 2005, because with it the engine dumps so much power into the transmission that the transmission hunts for gears. Until Toyata has figured out out to reprogram the transmission they won't offer it.
Well that was all hear-say, but that is as far as I took it.
