I know this is an old subject matter, but I've been doing some physical comparison's the past few days of FJ's and new Taco's, and overall, the engines themselves all look identical (layout, plumbing, etc.). Now is there a specific reason that someone can give me that the TRD charger can't work on the T4R? Assuming I get a charger and a fit kit, say for the FJ (not sure what these kits totally entail, someone can enlighten me) with some modifications for the intercooler mounting, etc, I see no reason why it shouldn't work. ECU programming wise, the Tacoma has the exact same power figures (236Hp/266Tq) vs. FJ's (239Hp/278Tq) so I can see having the ECU reprogrammed as if it were flashing a Taco's ECU.
Just throwing this out there for some debate as I'm contemplating on making a purchase to see if this can happen. Seems like the T4R is kind of left in the dark performance wise in the Toyota world, but like HPK discovered with the JBA header install, there's no logical reason why these things can't work.
