Wow dead thread resuscitation.
I Have the K&N on a 1992 and a 2004 runner.
The '92 it did nothing but make it louder. Don't think anything can help those 3.0 motors but gearing.
The '04 it actually seemed to be a bit more responsive...and louder.
Tip:
After you oil, let it sit for 10-15 min then pat it down with a dry paper towel, to get any excess oil.
Never have I had an issue with my MAF.
