TRDPRORUNNER - Build

TRDPRORUNNER,

Any idea how much ,if any, height the the Gobi added over your stock rails? I'd really like to add the Stealth, but have 3" between existing rack and garage opening. Wondering whether there's a net gain, or if it remained the same?

That looks great! Good contrast with the wheels and body. What are you planning for it? Looks like we have a few Vegas TRD's 'round here. We should all meet up.

I didn't mean to hi jack your thread. Tint and console vault are the first two things. Next is all weather floor mats, trunk mat and cargo cover. Oh and some Noyka hyperyellow fog lamp bulbs.

I want some rock sliders, but I am going to wait and see what is out when I go to SEMA next month. I would also like to put an LED light bar behind the grille, but that is a luxury that can wait.

Likewise and thanks for the nice comments! We'll meet up and hopefully we can get other Vegas Runners together and do a group shot or two!

I'm all for it! I can make time on weekends or early evenings. I know a few of us have been getting together under the VEGAS ROLL CALL thread.

Love the new ride, and REALLY love your photography! If you're not a pro photographer, then you're certainly and extremely talented amateur. Great work, and I also love your attitude regarding buying what you want. You handled some of the "backhanded" compliments here beautifully :-)

Enjoy the new ride!

Great looking ride and even better photos. Thanks for posting your list of upgrades.
I really like the low profile roof rack. That would serve me well with my low garage door opening. I've been looking for one of these. It looks like the rack is installed in place of Toyota's stock roof rails. Is that right? The Gobi site shows a few views too but no details about installation.
Also the roof access ladder appears to attach to the back hatch. The features listed say, "•No Drilling required! Uses existing body and or frame mounting points" and "•Easy to follow step by step installation instructions." Is the ladder attached at the hinge? How is it attached at the bottom?
Thanks for any info you can provide.
Gobi Racks - Hummer, Jeep, Toyota Racks
P.S. I'm a semi-pro photographer in Pasadena.

Thanks for your kind words. Glad the upgrade list helped. I can't recommend the Gobi enough! First rate product. From my research, the stock rails are about 1.5-2 inches in height. The Gobi mounts are about the same height before the rack actually sits on top of those. The rack is about 4.5 +/-.

The stock Runner is 71.5 at its highest. Subtract 1.5 to remove the stock rails. Then add about 6.5 inches I think (Total Gobi height w/ mounts) Should put you about 76 inches give or take an inch.

There is no drilling. There are clamp plates and bolts that create a pressure fit around the lip of the door. Along with some 3M tape and such. A little effort, but works great and reversible.

I'd love to see your work too - PM a link sometime. keep in touch!

Hey there,

Well if you subtract the 1.5-2 inch stocker and add the 6.5 inches or so from Gobi that would put you about 4-4.5 inches above your current height. Unfortunately, looks like you'd be over by an inch or so. Game of inches here, might make it... my math was fairly close but certainly not exact.

No worries... You'll love the console vault. BTW, they are in Vegas! SEMA should be cool! Went last year!

I'll be in touch when I can free up from work a little. I'd love to meet up w/ the Vegas crew. We'll orchestrate a big 'ol photoshoot for all the rigs!

Thanks a lot for your very kind words here on both the truck and the photography. I do shoot/film professionally and certainly enjoy popping a few on the truck sometimes. Not sure why, but I enjoy shooting vehicles when I can. Done some Limo companies and such and just find it interesting to get certain angles. Sometimes a few feet/inches on the angle can make or break the look of a car.

- I appreciate your comments on purchasing rationale... I've always believed in working hard towards what it is you want out of life. Set your sights... work for it... go for it! Most importantly Be THANKFUL for it!

oh.... and ALWAYS take the high road!

Playing around with some color treatments...

Anyone want to put together a 4Runner photo shoot soon? If your game to include your Runner, please chime in with your location ideas or any ideas for that matter! It'd be a blast to get them all together...

The black on black TRD Pro is amazing! Nice truck and nice pictures too!

Ok man, stop. Just...stop. This is torture! Great rig. What's your take on the Gobi rack so far? I ordered a Ranger rack like yours over the Stealth because I don't plan on adding a RTT right away, but I'm hoping I made the right choice

Rocky Gap off of the Scenic Route?

The Caves or Behind the Caves off of Ft. Apache & Warm Springs.

That's all I got that's within close proximity. I'm good for anywhere.

Your TRD Pro looks amazing! Was there any drilling required when you installed the NFab nerf steps?

would also like to know. that's my first mod to my white TRDP.

also, really dig what you've done in the back with the mat. won't work for me though as i have the factory cargo deck.

LOL... Not trying to hurt anyone here! I absolutely love the GOBI! It's a work of art and class act product. Very well built, packaged and powder coated. I have the "STEALTH". Not sure if you thought I had the Ranger, but no... definitely the "STEALTH". Not sure what to tell you on the Ranger... Could be cool!

Great ideas! Let's look to do this within 10-14 days hopefully... More on this soon.
