LOL, I've got the TRDP in the garage still waiting on back ordered N-Fabs!
Hope your TRDP gets to you soon, it's very much worth the wait IMHO.

Definitely worth the wait! I waited about 5 months after ordering and it was BRUTAL!

I see you have the 4 gallon Roto on the roof. How heavy is it when filled up? Is it hard to maneuver on and off the roof without putting your knee into the quarter panel?

It's about 8lbs per gallon. So about 35lbs full including the Roto itself. it's not bad. I'm mounting the Gas to the rear of the rack and the Roto Tools to the front. Don't like the thought of Gas above my head.

Plus you can more easily get to the gas from the back.
1. Step on Nfab or open door floorboard, then step up and on the rear tire to access. works great. then repeat to other side. the weight is not bad to move. Loosen one side, then the next, then slight lift and slide over the side of rack. No biggie at all. Hope that helps....

Thanks for the correction! That's good news! I was going off of what I heard on the forum from another member. Guess he was talking about his water. I love to get the truck "lighter" unexpectedly. Thanks for this...

Warning on the Rotopax locks if you run down a lot of dusty trails they will get filled up with dust and you won't be able to unlock them. This usually isn't a problem unless they are laying flat also being at the back of the runner they will fill up twice as fast. You can cover the key holes with tape to help prevent this. I personally don't run the locks anymore because of this problem. The packs and mounting system are awesome but this is the one weak spot I wish they would fix. Also even when locked I can use a small crescent wrench and turn them open to release the pack. I just run a cable and lock through my rack and packs when I leave it somewhere I shouldn't. Any way great looking rig!

Put my Weathertechs in yesterday and ordered the N-Fabs (East Coast Jeeps, best price I found). GOBI with lights next when the "Hell Yeah" fund gets a deposit.

Anyone know if / when it is too early to wax a new vehicle? I want to take TRDPRORUNNER's advise and wax as often as I can.

Good to know! I appreciate this info. Haven't taken the Roto's off road yet, but will cover the locks now. Was thinking about the cable lock too just to double up if in sketchy areas. Thanks!

As for waxing... some will disagree of course. I've been told on occasion that it's not necessary to do it but once/twice a year. However, after 13 years of taking care of my '99 BLACK 4Runner and
doing it often, I received endless compliments on that truck 10 years into it saying just how great the paint looks and they couldn't believe the age of it. Worked for me... not stopping now. IMO, black
just takes more TLC and labor to keep it nice, so the extra work will pay you back down the road. The joy of owning black..... :thumb3:


*edit: Looking into TRDPRO's solution from Gtechniq. Maybe this would work better with a little less elbow grease. Either way, I like to keep up the finish as much as possible.

Big fan of keeping the finish protected. I switched from regular waxes last year to nano-coating. I use Gtechniq professional products. Dirt and water just roll off. They have coatings for your glass, wheels and paint and it lasts much longer than waxes.
